Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Kassofor Group's story

The solidarity group was formed July 10, 2002. They all live in the same neighborhood. Most of them sell at the local market.

Mrs. Mariama to the left of the photo raising her hand is the group leader. She is 41 years old. She is married and a mother of six. She is also responsible for five other children of whom her brothers left her in charge.

She buys and sells mangos and oranges. She has proven experience in this business, since she's been doing it for several years.

The profits from this business will allow her to support her husband in improving her family’s living conditions.
