Aikomae's story

Aikomae is from the village of Bura, Catarman, Camiguin Province. She is 21 years old. Aikomae is single and has one infant-aged child. To make a living, she owns and operates a sari-sari (variety) retail shop, selling canned goods, beverages, junk foods, shampoo, soap and biscuits in the local community. She has been engaged in her business for over three years and earns approximately $238 a month for these activities.

In 2008, Aikomae joined HSPFI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. She has successfully repaid a previous loan of 15,000 PHP from HSPFI. This previous loan was used to purchase additional inventory and as working capital.

Aikomae is requesting a new loan of 20,000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional canned goods, junk foods and beverages. This will be her 6th loan from HSPFI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated to improve her business.
