A loan of $550 helped to buy sacks of regional fruit and natural flavorings for making popsicles.

Anabel Rubí's story

Anabel Rubí is a member of the 'El Abiseo' community bank which is located in Juanjui district, in San Martín department. She is 33 years old and single.

Some time ago, Anabel used to sell cosmetics on credit. However, as she noticed that her customers were not paying on time and, faced with the need to make her own income, she decided to request an initial loan for 500 Peruvian soles from Manuela Ramos. She decided to use this money to start a business making popsicles from regional fruit. This is the business in which she is currently engaged. She makes the popsicles in her home. They are very nice, of course, and they delight her customers.

Anabel will use this new loan for 1,500 soles to buy sacks of regional fruit and also natural flavorings for making her popsicles so that she can continue providing good customer service.

Anabel is a strong woman and her dream is to set up an ice-cream parlor and sell light refreshments. This would make her more profits. She is very grateful to Movimiento Manuela Ramos for helping women such as herself by providing them with opportunities to make progress in their business activities.
