Maria Francisca's story

María, 33, is a mother living with her children and her mother. She has a house of her own that only has electricity located in Payesa which is part of Túcume District and is located an hour from Lambayeque Department. This zone is dedicated to farming, cattle raising, crafts and tourism.

María has been raising sheep for the last three years. The corral where her sheep are is in her back yard. She raises her animals with balanced feed like natural grasses and once they reach optimum size and weight she sells them in markets in various cities. With money she gets from the sale of her sheep she will be able to meet her daily household and family expenses.

She has asked Edpyme Alternativa for a 1000 new sol loan through the Seed Capital program to buy more animals and balanced feed for them thus assuring good growth and weight gain for them and a better quality of life for her family.

María is well known in the area for being a hard working person who with much dedication hopes to see her business grow in order to be able to provide her children with other opportunities.
