A loan of $375 helped to buy stationery and school supplies to stock his stationery store.

Jorge's story

Jorge is 28 years old. He is a kind and cheerful man who lives in his own home together with his wife, 23 year-old Carmen, and their three beloved children who he would like to provide with a better quality of life.

Jorge's work makes him the income he needs to help his family with their household expenses. He drives a vehicle which he owns on a route between Ancon and Villa El Salvador. He has been working this route for a long time and so he knows the people who live nearby very well.

What Jorge most enjoys about his work is the freedom that he has since he can drive his vehicle peacefully through the streets in search of customers. He has been in this business for eight years and he considers the most difficult part of his work to be fixing his car when it has a problem. In the future, he would like to own a more profitable business in his home.

This is Jorge's first loan from MFP. He knows that he must repay it on time if he doesn't want to cause problems for the other members of his community bank where he is one of the few men in the group. He feels that must be very responsible. He will use the 1,000 Peruvian soles that he has requested to buy stationery products since he would like to set up a stationery store as there isn't one in his neighborhood.
