A loan of $375 helped buy spinach seeds and sacks of organic fertilizer.

Jose's story

José is 22 years old, and a single, hard-working young man. He lives with his father, Adán, his mother, Armanda, and his little brother, Jean. They live together in their own house, located in the Palcamayo area.

He has dedicated himself to farming for more than 2 years, as his parents needed his support and, most of all, his vitality. Since then, he has planted spinach, peas and gladiolas on lands they own and some they rent. This young man, in addition to the strength he has for carrying out this work, is also a merchant. Each season, he goes to the country’s capital city to sell his products, obtaining substantial profits. In addition, when he has free time, he works as a laborer on agricultural lands. “I can’t spend time doing nothing”, he affirms.

For this reason, each time he can, he saves the necessary amount to buy himself some land to become independent from his parents. He is very thankful to them for all they have taught him, and promises to offer them a healthy and happy life in their old age.

He belongs to the “Patrón San Cristóbal” cooperative bank. This is his first loan with MFP, where he hopes to have many successes with their association. During these days, José will plant spinach; for this reason, he will use the loan he is requesting to buy seeds and various sacks of organic fertilizer for his crop.
