María Margarita's story

María Margarita is 49 years old. She is a widow and lives with her children in Guaranda canton, in Bolívar province. She has four children. The Pucara Group community bank is located in Pucara community, in Guanujo parish, in Guaranda canton, 15 minutes from Cooperativa's offices. This bank has 22 members who work in farming, livestock raising and vegetable sales. María sells cheese and farms. She has nine and a half acres of land where she grows naranjillas (a native fruit) and blackberries. She also owns pasture and six head of cattle. She makes her purchases in Guaranda market and her sales in the wholesale market in Guaranda. María is requesting this loan to buy supplies and feed for her animals. The support of this loan will help her to financially cover her needs. She faces challenges in her work such as pests, plant diseases and changes in the weather. Her dream is to provide her children with a good education and to fix up her home. María enjoys going for walks with her children and going out shopping.
