A loan of $2,000 helped a member to buy baked goods, fruit, vegetables and drinks.

Mujeres Unidas De Tobati Group's story

The women in this committee are from San José neighborhood, in the city of Tobatí, which is 16km from our Caacupé regional office.

The committee's president is Reina, who lives with her husband and young son.

Reina works in a grocery store, selling all kinds of essential products to her neighbors so that they can stock up and cover their basic needs, especially with fruit, vegetables and baked goods (all items which make up the average family shopping basket).

Reina and her companions are very happy with the financial support that they are being provided with by Fundación Paraguaya and Kiva. With each loan that they receive, the ladies are enlarging their small businesses, and also their incomes, so that they can enjoy a better quality of life.

The committee is currently in its fifth loan cycle and has 11 members.

In this group: Reina, Juana, Mariana, Honorina, Maria, Sonia, Ramona, Amelia, Librada, Ofelia, Sonia
