Angel's story

Ángel, 56, is married living with his wife and unmarried children in Guaranda Canton, Bolívar Province. He has 7 children.

The “GRUPO PUCARA” communal bank is located in the community of Pucara in Guanujo Parish, Guaranda Canton 15 minutes from the Cooperative’s office. This communal bank has 22 members who are farmers, raise livestock and sell vegetables.

Ángel is a farmer. Her has 10 “cuadras” (1 cuadra = 275 feet approx.) of farmland where he grows potatoes, wheat and corn. He also has ten head of cattle. His purchases take place in the market in Guaranda and sales at the wholesale market in the same city.

He is asking for the loan to buy farming supplies and animal feed. Support from the loan will help him economically to meet his needs. The challenges he faces are infestations, illnesses and variations in the weather. His dream is to buy more cattle and to have pig sties.

He enjoys playing sports, celebrating the feast day of St. Peter and Carnival.
