A loan of $700 helped a member to buy such beverages as cold water, ginger drinks, and soft drinks to add to her current inventory.

Na We Say Group's story

Meet the members of the "Na We Say" group from Waterloo, a small town in western Sierra Leone. They are all local entrepreneurs who have come to SMT, a partner of Kiva, to apply for a loan of SLL 600,000 each. With the help of this loan, each of these women will be able to expand their businesses, make more sales, and consequently improve their living conditions. Celina, age 31, is the leader of this group. Her husband has his own business and they have two children. Celina has run a retail business for six years now: she sells such beverages as cold water, ginger drinks, and soft drinks. With her share of this loan, she will buy the above-mentioned items at wholesale prices to add to her current inventory.
