A loan of $2,625 helped a member to buy pagne cloth.

Sérieux Group's story

The eight members of the group SÉRIEUX are all married, and they average 30 years of age and three children each. The women live for the most part in polygamous families in BOUGOULA HAMEAU, a village in Sikasso (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). These group members are on their fifth collaboration with the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to satisfy the needs of their customers. The past loans have all been repaid nicely.

This group of women does commerce in pagnes (colorful West African cloth) in the case of KARI, who intends to use her loan to buy 100 lengths of Wax pagnes. She gets her supplies at the main market of Medine. Accepting cash, she makes her sales at the BOUGOULA HAMEAU market and at the house. Her customer base is composed of women and men.

KARI plans on making an average monthly profit of 120,000 francs CFA that will be used for day-to-day family expenses and for reinvesting in the business. Her ambition is to increase her turnover, so as to satisfy her customers further.

In this group: Awa, Bintou Issa, Sanata, Fanta, Djenebou Madou, Barakissa, Bintou Karrim, Kari
