Esther, aged 43, is a single mother to two children, Mary aged 26 and Ruth who is 18 years old. Esther sells timber in Limuru town near Nairobi, which she has been doing for the last six years. The business earns her a monthly income of 40,000 KES.
This is Esther's fifth loan from Kiva partner, KADET, and she has successfully managed to pay her previous loans. WIth this loan, she wants to buy more timber for resale. In the future, Esther hopes to start a yard in Nairobi in order to increase her customer base.
