A loan of $275 helped buy seed in order to plan corn and beans.

Pedro Angel's story

Señor Pedro, age 45, is a native of the community of Nispero, located in Condega, municipality of Estelí. He is the father of a family and a farmer who plants basic grains. He began farming at a very early age. He was 6 years old when he began learning this job. His father was a farmer and taught him everything he now knows.

Looking for a better quality of life, he left to work in Costa Rica, searching for job opportunities that would permit him to improve his income. With a lot of work and effort in Costa Rica he succeeded in saving money and bought a few cows and made some improvements to his humble home. Afterwards, he dedicated himself fully to what he knows best and has learned how to do—the planting of special basic grains such as corn and beans. His wife and son help him to improve harvests. Although he hasn’t finished school due to a lack of economic resources and only completed the sixth grade of primary school, he is considered a hardworking person who likes to earn a living honorably.

He applied for the loan in order to plant corn and beans. This loan will help him to be able to plant his crops and obtain quality production with a good yield. He wants to buy land to enlarge cultivated ground, and his next goal is to acquire cows so that he can work with cattle.
