A loan of $600 helped to purchase a milk cow.

Emzar's story

Emzar is a 41-year-old farmer from the village of Mukhrovani, Gardabani District. He is married and lives with his wife Madonna and 13-year-old son. Emzar’s son goes to the local school.

Emzar works in a local petrol station, as an operator. Madonna works as a teacher in the local school. Besides their regular jobs, Emzar and Madonna run a small dairy farm with three milk cows and seven calves. They produce traditional Georgian cheese and sell it in Tbilisi, the capital city of the country. The total average monthly income of the family is approximately 500 Laris.

With the requested credit, Emzar and Madonna will purchase an additional cow. It will result in increased cheese production. Part of the profit of the farm will be reinvested – more milk cows will be purchased.
