A loan of $1,825 helped a member to increase capital by buying comforters.

Expresso Group's story

The “EXPRESSO” community bank will begin its first cycle with Pro Mujer, as a part of the Villa Exaltación center. It is made up of eight members and is led by a board of directors headed by Mercedes. The community bank's members' businesses are varied. Among them we have: purchasing bricks, making hats. public transport, selling CD’s, and selling comforters, groceries, and baby clothes.

Mercedes indicates that she has been in Pro Mujer for three years, and she entered by asking about financial institutions. At this time, she has a business selling comforters. She has been doing this for two years, learning from her aunt. The loan that she will take out now is to increase her working capital by buying comforters. She buys them in the city of Oruro and sells them with easy payment plans. This work allows her to generate income to support her family. She is married and has four children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, her answer is the trainings.
