A loan of $1,100 helped to buy coffee, cacao and annatto from farmers.

Julian's story

Julián is from the city of Quimbiri. He is 32 years old and lives with 30 year-old María with whom he has two daughters: 10 year-old Erika and 4 year-old Naomi, who he would like to proviD. with a better quality of life. Julián's parents taught him to work and earn money through his own efforts from a very early age. He grew up with these lessons. Today, his main business activity is buying and selling. He buys and stockpiles produce from his region such as coffee, cacao, annatto and turmeric which are all native to the rainforest. In his business, he has the support of his workers who take charge of loading and weighing each product by the kilogram. They use his vehicle to travel to different communities in search of produce. Once he has amassed a good quantity of produce, he transfers it to well-known trading companies who pay him a good quantity of money annually. Winter brings rainy periods and landslides on the roads. For Julián, these are months of delay because when the roads are blocked, it becomes difficult for him to transport his cargo. Julián's plan for the future of his business is to continue working with the same determination that he is noted for. This is his first loan from MFP and he pledges to make his repayments on time since he would like to access another loan in the future. He will use the loan he has requested as capital with which to buy products from farmers such as coffee, cacao and annatto.
