A loan of $450 helped buy the ingredients for making her tamales.

Normaida's story

Normaida lives in Tecpatan, in the state of Chiapas, México. She is married to Luciano, with whom she had six children; four are now married, and two are seven years of age.

This is the second time she requests a loan to invest in the purchase of ingredients such as: cooking oil, meat, banana leaves, and chilies for making her tamales and selling them. She has been carrying out this activity for two years and four months, and comments that things are going well as her business is helping her continue supporting her school-aged children.

She planned with her husband in order to dedicate herself to this business, so they could work together to provide for their children who are still young.

Her greatest wishes are to get ahead with her family and her business.
