Taj's Group
In this Group: Taj, Rani, Mahmooda, Naziran, Jamilan
Taj is a 52-year-old housewife who prefers staying at home and doing her household work. Her husband is a farmer by profession and grows different seasonal crops on his small piece of land. He is a very hard working person and mostly works until late evening to get the desired output from his crops.

Taj is the mother of two daughters and a son. Her son works with his father in his agriculture business and her daughters stay at home. Taj couldn’t educate them due to poor financial conditions.

She has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah to improve her husband’s business. With the loan, he will buy fertilizers, seeds and pesticides to get better crops from his land and earn more profits. Taj is hopeful that her husband’s business will grow by investing the loan money into it, which will result in a better financial living standard for her family.

Note: In the photo, the lady with a book (called Asasah Passbook) is Taj.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
