A loan of $350 helped to purchase pigs for breeding.

Yesenia Catalina's story

Yesenia, age 31, was born in the region of La Ceiba which is located in the Department of León. She is married and the mother of three children. Yesenia is a merchant who raises pigs and grows corn. Through her own efforts, she started out planting corn on two plots of land and beans on another two plots of land. Afterwards, she bought animals such as pigs and chickens to raise. Yesenia started her business when she was 18 years old. Whenever her sales are not good, she provides cleaning services and grows peanuts, vegetables, tomatoes, and onions to earn additional income to support her family.

Yesenia is requesting a loan to buy breeding pigs to raise and develop. She hopes to expand her animal business as well as diversify her activities to include growing grains so that she can improve the quality of life for her family. Her plans include having a farm for breeding pigs, but her next goal is to build a barn for her animals.
