A loan of $800 helped to buy farming supplies and animal feed.

José Antonio's story

José Antonio, 57, is a widower living with his children in Guaranda Canton, Bolívar Province. He has 5 children.

The “NUCANCHI KAWSAY” communal bank is located in the community of El Rayo, Guanujo Parish, Guaranda Canton 25 minutes from the Cooperativa’s office. The members are involved in a variety of occupations like: farming, cattle raising, commerce, small farm animal raising, bricklaying and sawmill.

José farms wheat and corn on his own lands and on leased land. He has five head of dairy cows. Purchases are done at Guaranda’s market and sales take place in the wholesale market in that same city.

He is asking for the loan to buy farming supplies and animal feed. Support from the loan will help him economically to meet his needs. The challenges he faces are infestations, illnesses and variations in weather. His dream is that his business will continue growing and that his children will carry on with the business.

He likes visiting his family.
