A loan of $450 helped to purchase soft wood for making lumber.

Diana Carolina's story

Sra. Diana is a member of the Juan Zaplana Belliza Communal Bank which is in the District of Yarinacocha, Department of Ucayali. She is 21 years old, married, and has two children.

Diana has been working with the loans from Manuela Ramos for one year. She and her husband have a business selling wood. They help each other with managing it.

With her new loan of 1200 PEN, Diana will buy five logs of soft wood that will be turned into lumber and sold later. Selling wood in this manner is very profitable and any leftover pieces are sold as kindling. She is able to do her job and be a mother at the same time without any problems because she has someone to help look after the children while she is working.

Diana does not neglect her loan payments because she wants to continue working with subsequent loans from Manuela Ramos. In the photograph, she appears with one of her children.
