A loan of $875 helped to buy products for her shop such as beans, sugar, oil and eggs.

Lorena Del Carmen's story

Lorena del Carmen is married to Efraín, and they have a daughter, Surani Guadalupe, who is eight years old.

This is the third time she has requested a loan, even though this time she has changed activity: the loan she is requesting will be used to buy products to supply her general store. She told us she opened her shop four months ago, and since then it has provided her with a steady income.

One of her brothers encouraged her to open her shop, as he himself engages in the same kind of activity. However, in her shoes, he would sell her products at higher prices, in order to increase the income, so that in the future she would be able to improve the shop by offering better quality products.

Her biggest wish for her activity is that it will allow her to save enough money to enlarge her shop in the future; she also wishes to become a supplier for other shopkeepers starting up their activities.
