A loan of $1,125 helped to purchase a lighting kit and a lens for her camera.

Rosmery's story

Rosmery lives in the community of Bellavista in the municipality of Malambo. She has a photography business there and she also provides graphic design services. She studied liberal arts in silkscreen printing and she worked two more years at a supply store and then at another store before she decided to become independent. She used her severance pay to purchase two second-hand cameras and with them she started with her nearest clientele: her parents and friends. Gradually she has managed to expand her territory, from the municipality of Soledad to the city of Barranquilla. For the past 3 years she has been involved with Fundacion Mario Santo Domingo (Kiva Field Partner) and it was following a recommendation by her brother, a client enrolled with the organization for 10 years. With her loans she has managed to improve her infrastructure with the purchase of digital cameras, photographic materials, and better quality film. Her dream is to have a store equipped with all that a studio would need to leave a lasting impression on her clients, for the technology and for the beauty of her designs. Her Kiva loan will be used to purchase a lighting kit and a lens for her camera to improve the quality of her photographs even more .
