A loan of $600 helped to buy different merchandise to fill orders.

Olidais Esther's story

Olidais R. lives in the city of Barranquilla and sells different products for a living. Through specialized catalogues she sells cosmetics and underwear on a credit basis adapted to each customer's characteristics. She lives with her husand and children, ages 8 to 14, in the neighborhood of La Paz in Barranquilla where her business is set up. Olidais began selling sweets out of the front of her mother's home in the center of the neighborhood. She began her business with 60,000 COP that her brother gave her as a gift.

Her microbusiness has a profit margin of no less than 30% and an accounts receivable turnover of 30 days. This is her first CrediKiva loan through the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation and she plans to use it to increase her working capital and buy different merchandise, especially underwear which has already been ordered. She is sure this will be a sound investment with an immediate turnover.

Her dream for the future is to have her own store. For now her main challenge is the limited space in her apartment.
