A loan of $400 helped to buy ingredients for his food sales business.

Lorenzo's story

Lorenzo lives in the town of Corinto in the Salvadoran "departamento" of Morazan. He lives with his wife and son. Don Lorenzo and his family operate a business selling "dulce de panela"--a sugar-based food product that is a main ingredient for some local deserts--and everyday commodities. He works from 6:00am to 5:00pm. He works at the Corinto town market on Wednesdays and Sundays and from his house the rest of the week. He has operated the business for 5 years, learning the business as it's grown. Now he's applying for a loan to buy stocks of dulce, maize and beans. The loan will help him a lot because he's been building his house and has nothing left to buy supplies for the business.
Don Lorenzo's goal is to ensure that the business prospers and continues to provide the income that he needs to live.
