A loan of $4,050 helped a member to start selling cosmetics and tights for ladies.

Hondohondo Group's story

Theresia D. who is in her early 50s is a widow with four grown children. She has been running a business selling fruits, vegetable and powdered soap since 2005. She works from 6:00am to 6:00pm daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be Theresia's fifth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to start selling soap and to increase her stock of fruits and vegetables. She has paid back her loans successfully. She hopes for a loan to start selling cosmetics and skin tights for ladies. Her dream is to one day open a ladies clothes shop.

Theresia will share this loan with her loan group "Hondohondo", which has a total of 16 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable in paying back their loans.
