Maximiliano

Nicaragua
Esteli, Nicaragua / Farming

A loan of $500 helped to maintain his coffee crop, to sow basic grains such as corn and beans, and to buy supplies, manure and fertilizers.

Maximiliano's story

Maximiliano is 53 years old and from Labranza, in Condega, Estelí. He is a farmer and has seven children. He only studied up to the third year of elementary school. Maximiliano started farming at an early age. He went on to set himself up in Las Mesas, in Pueblo Nuevo, where he currently sows his crops. Thanks to his harvests, he was able to buy land and so started sowing basic grains and then coffee. His business has gradually grown and he works hard alongside his children. They now also own livestock.

Maximiliano requested this loan to maintain his coffee crop, to sow basic grains such as corn and beans, and to buy supplies, manure and fertilizers. This loan will help him to achieve a good production and maintain his crops. He plans to fix up a well, buy livestock and improve the quality of his crops, with organic coffee.
