A loan of $1,100 helped to buy cattle and pigs.

Gladys Beatriz's story

Gladys M. is a member of the August 14th Village Bank. She lives in the community of Zhidmad, where she enjoys lovely landscapes. The people there make their living in agriculture and raising animals. Much of the population goes out daily to work in the city and many others have moved away in search of a better future for their families.

Gladys is 37, married, and has 3 children, who are 19, 16, and 14. The eldest works and helps out financially, while the other two are in school in the city. Her husband is a bricklayer. Through their joint sacrifice they've built their own house.

Gladys raises and sells animals including cattle, guinea pigs, chickens, and pigs, which she sells within her own community. She also works in agriculture, but keeps the crops for the family.

Gladys has been with the village bank for 2 years and plans to use her latest loan to invest in cattle and pigs.

Her goal is to have her own vehicle.
