Felipa

A loan of $550 helped to purchase seeds and fertilizer.

Felipa's story

Felipa belongs to the "Sumac Tika-Valle Sagrado" community bank in the village of Qotohuycho, province of Urubama, department of Cusco, Peru. She is 35 years old, married and has two children, ages 11 and 7. She alternates her work between agriculture, where she has lands with potato crops, and selling the potatoes wholesale. Felipa buys the seeds and the fertilizer, does the planting, and after three months she harvests the potatoes. She is requesting a loan so she can purchase the seeds and a little fertilizer to reinvigorate her land for a new planting season.
