A loan of $1,075 helped to do maintenance on a motorcycle taxi.

Juana's story

Juana was born in the city of Taray (Cusco, Perú). She is 53-years-old and lives in the city of Taray along with her partner and their six children. Taray is 45 minutes from the city of Cusco and is characterized by its beautiful countryside and for being an area with tourism, livestock, and agriculture.

Juana tells us that in the month of February of 2010 the city of Taray suffered from a natural disaster. The river overflowed its banks and she and her neighbors lost their business and some of their houses collapsed. But the inhabitants are very entrepreneurial and hard-working and in spite of the difficulties they knew how to get back on their feet. Juana tells us that the river washed away her house and now she is living in an improvised house but little by little she will build her house again.

For several years Juana has worked in agriculture and livestock. Juana and her husband have a motorcycle taxi that covers the Pisaq-Taray route. At this time Juana requires the loan to do maintenance on the motorcycle taxi.

Juana belongs to the communal bank “Señor de la Agonía de Taray” of the Asociación Arariwa. The communal bank is in the fourth year and half of functioning and it is going well for them.
