A loan of $650 helped to purchase firewood for firing bricks.


Henry's story

Henry N. is 45 years old and lives in the town of Kireka in the Kampala central region of Uganda. He is married and has three children, all of whom are currently in school. Henry has a business making bricks, which he has run for five years. He also has a second business selling phone airtime.

To help expand his business, Henry has requested a loan of 1,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from Kiva partner, BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase firewood for firing bricks, which he will then sell. With the help of his loan from BRAC, Henry hopes to generate greater profits and pay school fees for his children. In the future, he hopes to expand his business.
