Sulma's story

Sulma is 52 years old. She lives in her own home with her husband and five children. For the past six years, she has been buying and raising animals. Within a period of approximately four months, she fattens the animals until they reach an exact weight and then sells them at a higher price. She is considered to be an excellent trader. Her speaking and persuasive abilities have enabled her to negotiate the sale of her animals. The earnings she generates helps her to support her family. Occasionally her children will help her with the work whenever they have free time. Her operating capital has increased over time and has allowed her to perform her work without problems. There have been several instances in which Sulma has found the work difficult because the feeding and health of the animals require meticulous detail, yet there are other times she finds very rewarding. She wants to produce better quality animals in order to continue with her business.

This is her 14th loan with MFP. Sulma is very pleased to be part of her Communal Bank because of all of its members are people she knows. They are responsible and supportive individuals. She is grateful to those responsible for approving her loan request because the funds will be useful in advancing her business. The loan she is reqeusting will be used to buy another animal to add to her stable.
