A loan of $2,300 helped a member to invest in pesos for a currency exchange business and in Bibles for resale.

Les Phares De Ouanaminthe 2 & 3 Group's story

Amogene is the coordinator for the group "Les Phares de Ouanaminthe" (The Beacons of Ouanaminthe). He lives in the Ouanaminthe region of Haiti where electricity is rare and running water is very limited. He runs a pesos business and for the last three years has also been selling Bibles. He would like to use this loan to invest in more pesos and Bibles.

The other members of "The Beacons" need a loan for businesses such as selling foodstuffs or cosmetics.

Amogene says his chief challenge is the lack of regular customers due to joblessness. His dream is to grow his business so that she can buy a motorcycle to use as a taxi.

In this group: Amogene, Leanta, Erzulia, Ketteria, Roselene, Therese, Roselene, Jean, Fanette, Jeannite
