Akaki B. lives in the village of Mukhrani, Imereti Region. He is 55 years old, married and lives with his wife Fatima, 9-year-old son and 81-year-old father.

Akaki and Fatima are involved in family agricultural activities. They have three greenhouses with a total area of 900 sq meters. In the period from November to April, greens are grown in the greenhouses.They are sold locally to the wholesalers. In the period from June to September, the greenhouse is used for growing tomatoes. The harvested tomatoes are sold in Kutaisi Market. Also, the family owns 1000 sq meters of agricultural land. They grow greens on this land to sell at the Kutaisi Market. In addition, the family owns two milk cows, one bull and one calf. Part of the milk products are used by the family and the other part is sold locally.

Akaki requested a loan for tilling the land. He will purchase diesel for the tractor and pay the owner of the tractor for the service. This year, Akaki plans to sow maize and watermelon on his plot of land. Akaki and Fatima hope that they will have a good harvest. The maize will be used for feeding the domestic animals and the watermelon will be sold at Kutaisi Market.

Akaki and Fatima plan to reinvest part of their profits in the further development of their agricultural farm. As for the rest – it will be used to improve the family’s living conditions.
