A loan of $675 helped to buy fertilizer and supplies.

Julieta Concepcion's story

Mrs. Julieta M. M., 27, lives in the community of Las Pilas Orientales located in Masaya Department with her husband, who works as a bricklayer to help her meet household expenses. They have three children in their care who are currently students. Her future plans for the family is to be able to buy a sedan to move products to market since they currently use carts that they push by hand which is very demanding work.

For the last seven years Julieta has had help from an uncle who lends her a manzana (land measure) of land that she farm to help her support her children. She grows manioc and various other crops. Her greatest challenge are the infestations that invade the crops and in years past have caused the total loss of her crops.

She thanks Afodenic for the loan offered through Kiva because it represents much help for her. She will use it to buy fertilizer and supplies necessary to combat the terrible plagues that for years have affected her crops.
