LaToya W. owns Prosperous Staffing LLC, a business that provides staffing solutions for call centers and other businesses needing excellent customer specialists. LaToya has hired a staff with extensive experience in customer service and LaToya herself has experience working in the call center industry. Their combined experience gives Prosperous Staffing the know-how to be the bridge connecting the gap between employer and employee. With many companies operating call centers in Houston, LaToya recognized the opportunity for a niche staffing agency that knows the ins and outs of the industry.

LaToya is using this loan from ACCION Texas-Louisiana to purchase business cards, brochures, workers compensation insurance, and to update her business’ website. When LaToya first opened Prosperous Staffing in 2009, she relied solely on her savings to get the business up and running. Looking back, she realizes that a lack of financing prevented her from starting the business with enough resources to be effective, which is why she turned to ACCION Texas-Louisiana after temporarily closing her business. This loan gave her the means to re-launch and aggressively advertise her business. Having just celebrated the re-launching of her business on May 2, LaToya is running her business full-time and has engaged the help of a part-time recruiter and a part time field worker.

LaToya credits her parents with giving her the confidence to be a small business owner. After working for years in Corporate America, she decided it was time for her to create her own opportunity. LaToya is utilizing the business counseling services offered by the Houston Minority Supplier Diversity Council and the Women’s Business Enterprise Association for networking and instruction in business development. LaToya’s goal is to establish Prosperous Staffing as the premier staffing agency for call centers in the greater-Houston area. When the time comes, she will expand Prosperous Staffing to other markets where call centers have a strong presence.
