“Las Talentosas” (The Talented Ones) is a group that consists of seven members. They all own distinct businesses and possess the desire to succeed and achieve their goals.

María del Rosario is a woman who cleans houses. She also spends time preparing donuts and chocolates. María sells these products in her area and has established customers. In addition, she sells beauty products. She has worked in this manner because it has enabled her to contribute toward the household expenses and pay for some of the comforts that helped her children with their studies. María is pleased that her children are now professionals. Despite some of the challenges she has had to face, María has been able to move forward and gradually begin the construction of her home.

She will use her loan to invest in beauty products and supplies for making chocolates in response to the demand she expects for Mother’s Day.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
