A loan of $725 helped to buy balanced animal feed and to expand her animal pens.

Francisca's story

Francisca is a 54 year-old mother. She lives with her husband and children in her own home which doesn't have any basic services. Her home is located in the small village of Guaraguaos, ten minutes from TambogranD. district and one hour from Piura department. The residents of this area work in agriculture and livestock raising.

Francisca raises and sells animals (sheep, hens and turkeys). She has been doing this for eight years. Her animal pens are located a few minutes from her home. She feeds her animals with balanced animal feed and, once they have reached an ideal size and weight, she sells them in TambogranD. district market or to other salespeople. Her sales cover her daily expenses. Francisca's husband works on other people's land so that they have another source of income.

Francisca has requested a loan for 2,000 Peruvian soles from Edpyme Alternativa to buy balanced animal feed and expand her pens as her number of animals has increased. She will sell her animals once they have reached an optimum level of development and she will be able to sell them to different salespeople for a good price.

Francisca is very well known in her village for the fact that she is keen to improve herself every day and is always trying, through her work, to improve her family's quality of life.
