A loan of $2,400 helped a member to buy palm oil and some brooms.

Nanu Juboo Group's story

The solidarity group NANU JUBOO was created on May 26, 2001. It is composed of nine women who all live in the same village. Their principal work is in small-scale commerce.

Ms. Fatou Mané (at the left in the photo with her hand raised) is the head of the group. She is 49 years old, a widow, and the mother of eight children. She has a small-scale business involving palm oil and brooms. As a side business, she sells cream and ice.

The loan will enable her to bolster her capital, so as to increase her supply volume. Her goal is to meet her personal needs and to support her children.
