A loan of $575 helped to buy more beverages and snacks for her small business.

Carmen Elizabeth's story

Carmen, 27, is a mother living with her husband and two minor children in her parents’ house which has all utilities (water, electricity and sewage) located in Tambogrande a mere hour from Piura Province and three hours from the city of Chiclayo. Tambogrande is characterized by being a zone with much agricultural and livestock raising activity.

Carmen has sold snacks and beverages like soft drinks, water and Frugos (brand of fruit juice) for the last two years at the launching site for taxis going to the city of Piura. Because it’s a very heavily visited place, sales have increased allowing Carmen to earn higher household income.

She has asked Edpyme Alternativa for a 1600 new sol loan to buy larger amounts of merchandise (beverages and snacks) to stock her small business and thus provide her family with a better standard of living with the income she gets from her sales.

Carmen is known in the area for being a hard working woman who very much wants her children to have better opportunities to improve their lives and for her to have a larger business later on.
