A loan of $800 helped to build a barbershop for her husband's business and buy a motorcycle to use for her family’s transportation.

Chit's story

Mrs. Chit K. H., 32, is the mother of four children and lives with her husband in Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. She cooks a variety of Khmer foods, selling them to the people at a market, and typically earns about US$ 7/day in revenue. Her husband works as a barber on a roadside in his community, making on average US$ 2/day in profit. Two of their children are employed by a private company and other two are enrolled in school.

Mrs. Chit K. H. hopes to use this loan to build a little shelter to be used as a barbershop for her husband. The remainder of the loan is to buy a motorcycle to use for her family’s transportation. (Her husband is pictured here because Mrs. Chit K. H. was unavailable.)
