A loan of $1,075 helped to renew his bee hives.

Jose De Los Santos's story

José, 45, is married living in his own house with his wife and two minor children located in a rural zone of Caracucho Hamlet about 15 minutes from Mórrope District which in turn is about 40 minutes from Chiclayo Province. His house only has running water. The district is characterized by its residents who are farmers, raise livestock and also have very beautiful religious festivals.

For the last ten years José has been raising animals (sheep and goats) to sell. He has his corral outside his house for more security and comfort. His animals sell quickly in the markets where he sells them because they are well fed with nutritionally balanced feed and natural grasses which make it possible for José to increase profits to meet daily expenses. Another activity he’s involved in is beekeeping (people dedicated to honey production).

Because of this, José has asked Edpyme Alternativa for a 3000 new sol loan to renovate the boxes his hives are in so that he can attain better quality honey and be able to sell it at a better price in the various markets and supermarkets. By increasing his sales he’ll be able to meet expenses while becoming better known in the different places he sells because of having a good quality product.

José is known by the local merchants and in the various markets where he sells his products as being an honest, hard working man with a strong drive to improve in life providing his children with better opportunities in the society they are developing in.
