A loan of $1,075 helped to buy more animals of different kinds and to have maintenance work done on his motorcycle taxi.

Segundo Benitos's story

Segundo is a 56 year-old single man. He owns his own home which has access to water and electricity. His home is located in the small village of Santa Rosa (a place where there are very few houses and inhabitants), 15 minutes from Mórrope district, 30 minutes from Lambayeque department. This is a place where people work in farming and livestock raising and it is known for its religious festivals.

Segundo has been buying and selling all kinds of animals (poultry, cows, pigs, etc.) for some years now. He carries out his business in Moshoqueque market, in the city of Chiclayo, on Tuesdays. This is when there are most customers and he can sell his animals most quickly. With this income, he is able to cover his needs. Another way in which he makes a little extra income is by hiring out his motorcycle taxi (a small mode of public transport).

Segundo is requesting a loan for 3,000 Peruvian soles from Edpyme Alternativa to buy more animals and continue trading wholesale and retail, as he always does, in Moshoqueque market. Once he has sold his animals, he will be able to repay his loan and also enjoy a better quality of life.

Segundo is a man who is very well known for being hard-working, responsible and devoted to his business.
