A loan of $375 helped to purchase fertilizers.

Sonia's story

Sonia is 29 years old and she lives with her husband in a house which they own. When she was a young girl she learned about agricultural work. Today, with her husband and children by her side, she works on the land that was inherited to her by her parents. She is able to earn enough to support herself and her family. She cultivates potatoes, corn, okra, fava beans and other products, such as hay that she uses for her livestock. She sells her livestock while she waits for the harvest to be ready and to sell the products. Sonia believes that these businesses are very helpful for the progress of her family. She plans on increasing the number of livestock in order to expand the business. This is her first loan with MFP (Kiva Field Partner) and she was invited to take part in her communal bank because she is known to e a responsible and committed person. She is very thankful to the other members of the group and she is committed to be on time with her payments. She will invest the loan she requests in the purchase of fertilizers to replant hay for her livestock.
