A loan of $775 helped to buy reams of paper, folders and school supplies, etc.

Dolores Isela's story

In the city of Portoviejo, the Manabi capital known for many years as the city of the royal tamarinds, the communal bank "Damas Positivas" meets every two weeks. Here we meet Mrs. Dolores, age 41, who is married and has three children, ages 20, 16 and 13, who are in college and school. Her husband is a professional driver. She has a printing and photocopying business in her home, taking advantage of the fact that it is near the town school. She works Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and even later, if someone needs something. She has been in business for three years and says that in this short amount of time business has been growing little by little. This loan will be used to buy reams of paper, school supplies and folders, among other things. She has been a member of the communal bank for eight years and, thanks to the loans received from the institution, has been able to buy things for her printing business. One of the loans was used to buy a photocopy machine. Her dream is to expand business and begin offering Internet services.
