A loan of $725 helped to buy fungicides and manure for her crops.

Marita's story

34 year-old Marita is a very hard-working woman who lives in her own home together with her partner, 35 year-old José, and her two beloved children: 13 year-old Edison and 8 year-old John, who she would like to provide with a better quality of life.

Marita has worked diligently on her land and made it very productive. She grows cacao, coffee and bananas which she takes to the warehouse centers, in the city of San Francisco, to sell wholesale. Her crops have provided her with the income she needs to support herself and cover the educational expenses of her beloved children. This is why she puts all her efforts into making progress with her crops.

What Marita most enjoys about her work is caring for her crops since she feels happy doing this. She has been in this business for 15 years and considers the most difficult part of her work to be transporting her products from the farm to her community as it is a 1 hour walk. In the future, she would like to buy more land so that she can increase her crops. This is her fifth loan from MFP. She was very punctual in repaying her previous loan and hopes to continue being punctual with this one. Marita takes an active part in her community bank and is always aware of the agreements that her group has reached. She will use the loan she has requested to buy fungicides and animal manure to fertilize her crops.
