Yrma's story

Yrma is the mother of a family. She is 37 years old and she lives with her children and her husband in her own home. She has all the basic services and it is constructed from rustic materials. It is located in the rural region of Caseria de Paccha, belonging to the district of Chyulucanas in the department of Piura. These districts are known for their heightened commercial and agricultural activities carried out by the population.

Yrma has a grocery store installed in her home and she also been raising turkeys for the past few years. In her store her neighbors are able to find all kinds of food products. When the turkeys have achieved an ideal size and weight she sells them in the district market of Chulucanas. It is through these two businesses that Yrma tries to achieve a better quality of life.

At a visit to Edpyme Alternativa (Kiva Field Partner) Yrma requested a loan of 2000 nuevos soles to purchase more products for her store and to purchase turkeys to raise and later resell. This is how she expects to make her loan payments.

Yrma is known by her neighbors to be a very happy woman who is ready to help everyone. She is known as a responsible mother with an objective to support her family through effort and hard work.
