Naira's story

Naira T. is 54 years old. She is married and lives in the village of Manglisi in the Kartli Region. Naira’s family consists of five members: her husband Jimsheri, a 24-year-old son, a daughter-in-law, her 84-year-old mother-in-law and herself.

Jimsheri leads the family’s farming activities. They have three milk cows. Cheese is produced and sold locally. Also, Jimsheri cultivates the plot of the land owned by the family and grows different types of vegetables. Vegetables are consumed by the family as well as sold in a grocery store run by Naira. The store is located in a neighbor village. Naira goes there every day and sells the grocery products.

The biggest part of the loan will be used to purchase stock-in-trade for the store. It will positively impact the income of the store. The other part of the loan will be used to renovate the house. The profit earned from the store will be used for further expansion of the family's rural activities.
