A loan of $725 helped hire day laborers to help her maintain her plants.

Floriana's story

Floriana is 41 years old she is a hardworking woman and lives in a rented home with her husband Filomeno who is 44 and their beloved son Marco Antonio who is 4 years old and is the reason for all of their hard work. The products that they have grown with a lot of affection and hard work have helped them a lot to progress in life. Every morning she works the fields and knows that the care that they give to their cocoa, coffee and citric fruit crops depend on the quality of the products that they get. What she enjoys most about her job is taking care of the crops and is very happy when she sees them big and leafy. Floriana has worked for 10 years in this job and says the most difficult part is taking the crops to the city of San Francisco, a place where she receives the best prices for her products. In the future she hopes to grow more cocoa plants since she has fields that she hasn’t sown. This is her fourth loan with MFP and knows that she has to pay all of her quotas on time and is willing to do so. In her communal bank, Floriana is very friendly and responsible. With the loan she will hire day laborers to help her maintain her plants.
