Yamilet's story

Yamilet C. is 37 years old and has a junior high school education. She is married to Alberto and they have two children who attend elementary school. She and her family live in a town called El Jicaro, locate along the Tierra Blanca-Joachin road, 20 minutes from La Vidriera.

She tells us that her husband is a butcher, but the money he earns is not enough to cover the household expenses, now that the economic situation gets more difficult every day, so she decided to help with the expenses by selling tacos al pastor Friday to Wednesday evenings. On Fridays she also sells meat; on Saturday she sells barbacoa; and soup on Sunday. She is an enterprising and hardworking young woman of good character who is always happy and tells us that she likes working and helping her husband very much, and who hopes that her business will prosper and bring in good earnings in the future. She would like to expand her restaurant and buy more tables to provide better service to her customers. She would also like to cater parties and family reunions in customer’s homes.

She needs the money from this loan to buy peppers, tortillas, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, cooking oil, radishes, cucumbers, spices, firewood, chayotes, carrots, plastic bags, potatoes, and soft drinks. She is very grateful to the foundation for granting this loan.
